Lead the Tooling, Process, and Set Up departments. Responsible for all new product activities, from cost estimating to tooling and process development. Plan and facilitate all tooling maintenance and refurbishment, customer requested engineering changes, and scrap/downtime improvements. Day to day responsible for production issues related to tooling, process, and startup.

Facilitate development of new products from initial feasibility to launch. Lead process and product improvement test and trails to correct quality issues, investigate customer requested changes, or improve throughput. Develop and maintain routing and work instructions for all areas of the facility. Support production and maintenance in process and equipment troubleshooting and repair.

Lead efforts for casting quality improvements through tooling/process changes on new products. Document and communicate process and quality improvement activities to internal management and customers. Complete manpower/capital/tooling estimates and feasibility analysis for new product quotations to customers.

Responsible for capital equipment estimates for new product quotes and customer requested volume/engineering changes. Created manufacturing plans and layouts for potential new products. Work with equipment and prototype suppliers, to estimate lead time and costs to launch new products requiring expanded capacity and new technologies.

Rotated to all major departments in facility, working on small scope improvement projects. Spent majority of time with operators and technicians learning and troubleshooting the process and equipment in each area of the facility.

Assisted Professor Vondra in the Tech Foundry with laboratory activates, and projects involving the foundry. Responsible for preparing foundry for lab activities, and maintaining a safe and productive environment during lab hours

Work with interdisciplinary teams, utilizing traditional businesses/manufacturing methods and new technologies (3D printing, Oculus Rift) on University assigned projects. Scope of projects range from traditional media/advertising to virtual reality.

Worked with Metallurgical Lab and NDT personnel on acoustic resonance inspection to test graphite nodularity in ductile iron castings. Also spent considerable time identifying and analyzing casting defects related to ongoing customer issues

Maintained tidy and organized environment to comply with cleanliness standards.

Maintenance and landscaping work that included equipment/building maintenance, supply room stocking, and some supervising of seasonal workers.
