I graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in 2022. I went to Emory and Henry College to play baseball but quit and transferred to Northeast State Community College to peruse an education in biology. I got some work experience from Fed Ex Ground for around 6 months but quit and looked for a new job. I found a job for a moving company called College Hunks Hauling Junk and Move. I am currently employed there, but looking for a new job. At the end of 2024 I decided that I wanted to have a career in aviation, as I've always been fascinated by the topic since I was young. I am hoping to graduate this semester with a basic associates degree that sets me up for a four year degree. I am also enrolled at the local flight school, The Flying Service at Tri Cities Airport. I am currently getting my Private Pilots License and planning to get my Commercial License by the end of the year.
This is a primally moving company so I would go in early before the move is supposed to take place and prep the truck with the necessary supplies for the move. I would be required to carefully and safely wrap, pack, and load up the clients furniture and other belongings on the truck. I would be held responsible for the clients belongings if anything happened to them. I would also be required to lift anything ranging from 10 to 550lbs. Mangers do not supervise the move so the crew and I would be held responsible. I am also required to be able to dissemble and reassemble anything the client wants.
I was a package handler at the Fed Ex ground off at Tri Cities Crossing. I would go in at around 3:30 am and would work to around 8:00 am. I would unload trailers and operate a tugger to deliver the Larger packages and tires to the van lines. I would have to be quick with our work due to the packages needing to be off all the trailers by sunrise, so they can be delivered.
