I lead the fitters and welders to determine the final assembly locations to meet the schedule and production numbers that are needed for the week, which includes handing out the prints, who is working in that location, and making sure they stay on task and perform in a safe manner, trying to ensure a steady flow and taking care of what they need to get the jobs done. I also challenge and try to improve each of the guys' and girls' skills so they will be able to build anything that comes through the shop. I help with the reading and understanding the blue prints and welding procedures.
I assembled the small parts on the pole, welded bases, read blueprints, filled in the team leader, welded metal core, and flux core wires. I ran the forklift, tag machine, straightener, small press, saw, drill, back welder, sand blaster, and wherever I was needed.
Assembled small parts on and inside tanks. Reading blueprints certified in MIG and stick welding, in hardwire flux core, stainless, and aluminum wire; certified in subarc and aluminum subarc; used 50-ton overhead cranes and forklift certified.
I worked in the tool and die and press department, running presses, drills, lathes, saws, punches, shears, and making small parts to supply the assembly for the prototypes and production parts to build racks.
