Dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Medical-Surgical and Critical Care nursing, including trauma and neurosurgical ICU. Expertise in patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response. Transitioned from LPN to RN while enhancing clinical knowledge and leadership skills. Recently earned a Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner, committed to professional growth and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
After working in Med-Surg, I transitioned to the ICU to further advance my clinical skills, expand my critical care knowledge, and pursue professional growth in high-acuity patient care. I work in a trauma, medical, and neurosurgical ICU with over 28 beds that fluctuate based on patient acuity. In this role, I provided comprehensive care to critically ill patients with complex and rapidly changing conditions. Responsibilities included performing detailed patient assessments, neurological assessments, and managing hemodynamic monitoring. I maintain arterial lines, central lines, external ventricular drains, titrate vasoactive medications, sedatives, analgesics, paralytics, and other high-risk IV drips. I also assist with bedside procedures including intubations, tracheostomy, arterial and central line placement, chest tube insertions, external ventricular drain placement, code blue resuscitations, and occasional exploratory laparotomies for patients too unstable for transport. Throughout my ICU experience, I collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams to maintain strong communication and deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care.
