Labor and Delivery nurse(1-2 Pt at a time), triage nurse(2-4 Pt at a time), and circulator for our cesarean sections during my time at Baptist Desoto.
When I started my nursing career at St. Thomas West I started on the Telemetry Unit(4:1, Nurse: Patient). On this unit we would care for patient's needing Drips for irregular heart beat, patients needing cardioversion, or patients needing surgery for pacemaker, ICD, or Cardiac bypass. I would have the patients before surgery to pre-op and then would received them back to recovery. While on this unit we also did discharge teaching with our patients.
My second year on this unit I floated the hospital to step down and ICU as our unit have become a high/quick turn over unit for the patients.
