Summary

The truth is, I work hard, if you had asked me a few years ago what my plans were when I finished my undergraduate degree, Graduate School was not on my list of things that I would have been considering. Over the past year or so, those plans changed. Looking at where I wanted to be in the future would require more work, more dedication, more training and more education. Being accepted into the Graduate program at Guilford not only became a want, it became a dream, something that I wanted more than anything. Continuing my academic career has become something that I strongly want to do, being a student-Athlete and competing on the field will only help to dedicate myself to handwork, focus and determination. I have not always been the greatest student, I will not deny that fact. I do not want to create excuses for that, I wil say that I have overcome so many difficult spats in life, major illness that didn't help, injuries that kept me off the field and out of the classroom for extended periods of time. At the end of the day, I want to be a a mentor, someone who other youth, especially those that have faced difficulties can look at and say, Eli did it, there is a path for me as well and I want to be the person who walks with them as they also achieve their dreams.
