South Zone IE Coordinator

I oversee the improvement of efficiency and service for the Hub, Feeder, Air, and Package operations with Air Product with a future focused view and cross-functional coordination under the South Zone IE Director's leadership. I do this through my two air managers and 11 planners while working cohesively with the other Zone coordinators and Operations. In this role I have seen two gateway relocations (TPA and MSY), SAV Gateway opening, the removal of CAHSC D air hub, and multiple projects (e.g. Vulcan) along with ongoing changes of Peak Planning and the onboarding of USPS.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of operating plans for 26 gateways and collaboration with Americas (MIA) and OVA and Middle TN Ground network for air.
  • Oversee asset management including GSE, and have reduced rentals, eliminated SFAC, reduced shuttles and resulted in close to $50 million in savings in the three years I have been in job.
  • Coordinates projects such as USPS onboarding, GSE and staffing adds.
  • Review data, and reports in collaboration with my managers related to BSC and QPR to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate projects and manage project timelines (TPA, MSY Gateway Relocations and SAV Gtwy Opening) for successful completion, ensuring milestones are met and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Process improvements, such as CSP on MEM Ramp in order to develop standards, achieve business plan goals, and continuously improve service to the internal and external customer.

Air Section Leader

This position supports gateway operations planning in Mid South and South Zone by providing guidance, direction, and training to Air IE Planners. I served as a SME to gateways and areas served by the planner. This position provided direction and oversight for capital expenditures, business planning, network planning, facility planning, transportation evaluation, special projects, new service operating implementation planning, and people development. I maintained financial and operational evaluations, performed evaluations, made recommendations, and coordinated the implementation of network changes, Peak changes, and UPS approved projects. This position also creates contingency operating plans with appropriate cross-functional groups.

  • I supported both Air IE and Mid South OE in dual role beginning with Network Optimization and the opening of HSV AM sort.
  • Coordinated and evaluated Mid South, Ohio Valley and GA Air, 14 gateways and multiple ground moves for NDA and 2DA.

I assisted with the development, assessment, and alignment of service goals while also providing Local Sort support through my 3 supervisors. This position plans and implements training activities and provides operational support.

  • Drove performance metrics and analyzed performance trends to ensure service processes and procedures support business objectives and raise performance expectations.
  • Managed resources and people processes (e.g., Quality Performance Review [QPR], and Training, etc.) to ensure the daily administration of processes and formal procedures.
  • Conducted service trend analyses to determine the best service improvement strategies.

IE Section Leader Hub

I supported the East Tennessee and Alabama hub operations planning while providing guidance and direction to my district Hub IE Planners. I served as SME to my hubs and provided direction and oversight for capital expenditures such as new Montgomery Tilt-Tray, business planning, special projects (added Montgomery Day sort), and development of staff. I worked cross-functionally with Feeders and IE in the District and with the Corporate IE Hub Planning Manager in efforts involving the region's hub operations. Overall, Montgomery smalls % bagged increased from 28% to 36%.

Responsibilities

  • Development and coordination of Hub Planners activities to align with operational needs (new sort, new Smalls methods).
  • Delegated tasks appropriately to ensure optimal utilization of planner skills and capabilities, especially related to sort planning and staffing.
  • Collaborated with Ops management to develop strategic plans that aligned with company objectives.

Air Planner

I supported seven gateways and Middle TN ground in Mid South from LA through AL and into TN, creating work measurement, holiday planning, operational planning, and operational improvements. I served as the SME to the gateways and district for items such as flow, schedules, network design, and feeder aircraft planning and provided direction and oversight for capital expenditures, business planning, network planning, facility planning, transportation evaluation, special projects, and new service offering implementation planning. I coordinated the implementation of network changes, peak changes, and LFT Gateway Relocation.


Responsibilities:

  • Worked with ADM and three Ops managers to ensure optimal movements and capacities.
  • Improved MSY performance adding a new PDC and A2 vans to reduce unload times.
  • Re-worked Jet Utilizations throughout District to optimize performance.

OE Supervisor/Local Sort Planner

I supported the Mid South to ensure it met customer service and quality objectives at 8 hubs and 44 local sorts. I assisted with the development and alignment of service goals with company objectives supporting the implementation of training activities such as NGSS deployments throughout the district. I was responsible for analyzing performance metrics, developing a new trend sheet for Delayed Next Scan, and ensuring service processes and procedures align with business objectives, including gathering performance trend data and determining improvement areas where appropriate. As Local Sort Planner I supported business planning by developing daily, monthly, and annual plans for the Package, operations, forecasting volume productivity targets ensuring business plans are achieved and developed long range plans for use in determining operations capacities.

  • LS - Analyzes and develops operating plans.
  • OE/LS - Provides operational support through reporting and feedback
  • OE - Conducts audits as needed to identify areas or processes that are out of compliance.
  • OE/LS - Identifies and records non-compliance exceptions, reviews records and works with operations management to develop action plans that address all non-compliance exceptions and verify compliance.
  • LS - Assists with operations forecasting, including reviewing research, trends, projected growth rates, etc. to inform staffing recommendations.
