Professional Home Mortgages, Inc. was opened in 1998. I held the position as the only Loan Originator. Having no previous experience, and no clients, I contacted several wholesale lenders to get information on the products they offered, interest rates, and the loan submission process. Once comfortable, I joined the local Chamber of Commerce, visited real estate offices, attorney offices, and gave business cards to any and everyone I met, whether it was at a business function or the grocery store, within weeks, we had clients.
As a loan originator, it required meeting with clients, help complete loan applications, pull credit reports, advise in ways to improve credit if necessary, run loans through either Loan Prospector or DU, then select the best lender to submit the loan to, lock the interest rate, give clients the list of needed items, once items were in, the title and appraisal were then ordered, and the loan was submitted to lender for final underwriting approval.
Professional Home Mortgage soon became a correspondent lender, in Georgia and Tennessee. I then hired additional loan originators, and began originating commercial loans in addition to residential loans. While manager at Professional Home Mortgage, I held several positions that included Account Executive, Underwriter, Loan Originator, Wholesale Packaging, Compliance, Marketing Executive Auditor and Trainer.
This information is to show, that even though I didn't complete my degree, I had determination, problem solving skills, willingness to learn, and motivation, that made me successful.
