My name is Marcus Dunham and I am the Principal of Johnson County High School/CTE in Mountain City, TN. This letter is in regards to a character reference for one of our outstanding students, Ciara Cranford. Ciara is a member of the Class of 2023. As Assistant Principal and currently Principal, I have had the opportunity to observe Ciara's academic performance for the past four school years. She excels in the classroom and is always willing to put forth maximum effort to achieve at the highest level. Her teacher's have told me numerous times of how they enjoy having her in their classes with her personality and strong work ethic. She strives to be the best in the classroom and takes numerous dual enrollment courses that will prepare her for her future. It is because of this strong work ethic that she is a model student for both our underclassmen as well as upperclassmen. She also has an exemplary discipline record. Ciara is also highly involved in various clubs and organizations at Johnson County High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and HOSA. Membership to these organizations requires maturity, hard work, integrity, dedication and numerous references from her teachers. These are all prestigious organizations and membership is both an honor and a huge accomplishment. In closing, I highly recommend Ciara Cranford, as I can speak highly of her character and academic accomplishments. If I can be of further assistance please contact me at your earliest convenience. Sincerely, Marcus Dunham, Principal Johnson County High School/CTE
I am writing to you on behalf of Ciara Cranford, whom I have known for the past 3 ½ years. I believe her to be an exemplary candidate based on her overall kind and charitable personality. Ciara is not only a dedicated student but also an overachiever outside of the classroom. She is involved in extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and maintains a demanding employment schedule. I have had the pleasure of witnessing her interacting with children of all ages for the entirety of the time I have known her. She has been nothing but gentle and compassionate. She has continuously used a calm and serene voice and reasoning skills based on the child's developmental age to help them understand the "why" behind a request or an activity. She always presents herself in a welcoming way to these children, who quickly warm to her bright and positive attitude. She demonstrates active listening skills, which are age-appropriate for a pediatric setting, in ways that I have not seen many of my university clinical students utilize. During her tenure volunteering in my clinic, she has been swept into the world of child abuse and neglect and has listened to countless education conversations between therapists and parents, which have discussed general childhood development in neurological, behavioral, and physical capacities. She has quickly learned the importance of even simple instruction for parents who have not been given many other tools. She has decided to use her unique skill set to pursue Marriage and Family Therapy, which will allow her to lovingly guide families through difficult life milestones. I am honored to offer my support and recommendation of Ciara Cranford as a qualified candidate. She is a considerate and empathetic student but also someone who manifests daily the fundamentals of child advocacy. If you have any further questions, please contact me by phone or email.
Sincerely, Courtney Andersen
It is with great pleasure that I am writing this letter for Miss Ciara Cranford. As Ciara's virtual Biology teacher, it has been my pleasure to watch her academic development to a mature and dedicated sophomore at Johnson County High School. In this year of unprecedented changes, Ciara was able to maintain academic performance and accountability while learning from a virtual platform. Her commitment to academic excellence was evident in her coursework submissions. It was apparent that she strives to achieve both short term and long-term goals. She is well aware that there is a larger picture in the future and is using her high school career to build a strong foundation that will last a lifetime. These attributes will contribute to her overall success in the classroom as well as other endeavors. Ciara has the ability to be an independent learner but is also willing to collaborate, when necessary. Self-motivation is a key factor for success in a virtual setting as well as time management skills. Ciara most definitely displays both of these attributes, which will continue to benefit her and prove great success in her future vocational pursuits. I am certain that she will continue to be a hardworking student and will use any opportunity to further herself academically, be an influential role model, and have a positive impact on the school culture at Johnson County High School and beyond.
Sincerely, Angela M. Blevins Teacher, Johnson County High School
