• Assess roadway plans for any environmental concerns and report findings to leadership.
• Conduct field work to identify features and critical species habitat within transportation project limits.
• Utilize Arc GIS in various forms including but not limited to highlighting features and species concerns within project limits; obtaining construction project clearance; creating tables containing protected species information to coordinate efforts with other agencies including Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA), Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Division of Natural Areas, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).
• Coordinate with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to determine jurisdiction of features on roadway projects.
• Prepare Environmental Boundaries Reports utilized in the planning of transportation projects.
• Monitor changes to project plans that may require additional coordination for federal and state approval.
• Share ecological information with interagency groups to stay current with project changes.
• Delineate boundaries of wetlands and the beginning of stream features for roadway projects.
• Continue education to keep up with relevant policy and species listing changes.
• Conduct briefings to update teams on the changes and status of projects.
• Gain cooperation with the public to conduct field studies in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist operations with facility compliance inspections.
• Inspect construction projects for compliance issues.
• Analyze and create reports that reflect site conditions to inform our compliance office of permit violations.

• Perform safety inspections/audits of systems, work activities, procedures, programs and practices to ensure effectiveness, and compliance.
• Conduct incident investigations and complete reports for all work-related incidents involving injuries, fleet vehicles, general liability, property damage, near-misses, or any loss to determine root cause(s) and contributing factors while recommending corrective actions.
• Assist in development and conduct employee safety orientation training. Conduct training on activities including but not limited to: Work Zone Safety, Heavy Equipment Operation Safety, Vehicle Safety Awareness, HAZCOM, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Machine Operation and Guarding.

• ISA Certified Arborist contractor for EPB and TVA.
• Inspect and identify trees on and around federally owned and regulated right of ways that may cause possible threats, or power interruptions to transmission and distribution lines.
• Use GIS software to map findings and give detailed analysis of areas surveyed. Submit findings to agencies to determine best vegetation management practices for removal and remediation of vegetation in areas that may pose a threat to transmission and distribution lines.
• Manage and supervise 40+ employees on daily activities and procedures.

• Provide care and maintenance of marine and aquatic species and habitats.
• Perform water quality analysis, treatment, and regulation of multiple exhibits.
• Work closely with aquarists, scientists, veterinarians, and technicians to help provide the best possible environment for all species.
• Operate federal and state funded endangered species lab in attempts of delisting species and raising awareness for the protection of native species.
