Johnson City

Summary

I am energetic and creative with a love for learning and a desire to share that knowledge with others. My current obsessions are interior design, classic literature, and aerial silks. I most value authenticity and humility, and my deepest struggle is extending the same grace to myself that seems easy to give others.

Work History

Ceramic Tile Installer

Piper Construction
06.2024 - Current

I have led two jobsite as both foreman and tile installer for complete bathroom remodels. This position requires clear communication with both homeowners and subcontractors. Furthermore, attention to detail, artistry, and mathematical skills are all necessary to ensure a professional tile installation job. I am currently transitioning from this job to working as a part time tile installer for a close mentor and friend who is starting their own tile company.

Tutor

Mathematics
01.2022 - Current

As a private mathematics tutor, I meet with students across all grade levels to help them understand the patterns and relationships between numbers. This job has developed my interpersonal and relational skills. A student's previous experience with mathematics is not always positive. As a result, having patience and empathy as a tutor are non-negotiable.

Middle School Math, Science, and Bible Teacher

Providence Academy
07.2023 - 05.2024

After receiving my elementary education degree from ETSU, I taught 8th grade math, science, and Bible for Providence Academy. Although my time there was short before having the opportunity to train as a tile installer, the organizational and management skills I learned there are invaluable.

Server

Cootie Browns
08.2022 - 05.2023

I have worked several food service jobs. In fact, my first job was at a coffee shop when I was 15 years old, and I worked there for three years. However, my most recent food service experience was as a server at Cooties Browns. I had to work quickly, promptly, and with a smile on my face. I have always had a love for food service because I enjoy getting to know customers. I will never underestimate how being genuinely kind and eager to please can make someone's day brighter.

Dance Director

Trinity Arts Center/Johnson City Arts Center
08.2020 - 05.2022

While teaching ballet classes, I created and directed the production, Narnia, based of C.S. Lewis' novel, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. As an avid bookworm, it was a privilege to share one of my favorite novels with the Johnson City community. Furthermore, I organized fundraisers like a fall sleepover and a dance photoshoot for the studio.
