I started worked when I was 11, no matter if that was asking people if I could walk their dog, or even sweep their driveways. The older I got, the more determined, I realized I wanted something more. I interned at a hair salon I had down my street when I was 15 and since then I had fallen in love with putting in work. There I found out the common needs I needed for the working class communication, time management, social skills, and the drive you need to get it all done.
During my time at Crumbl Cookie, I was met with the most lovely people! They helped show me my way around and after that, is was my turn to do the same for others. My time there really taught me how to teach other people and that is one of my most valuable lessons. My time at the bakery was spent communicating, teaching, and learning everyday. I worked long and hard shifts up to 16hrs at the age of 16 and 17, opening and closing the store after some of the experience the managers had given me.
My time there came to an end in May of 2025, due to health conditions of family. In May of 2025 I moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico to take care of a family member with dementia towards the end of his life. That time taught me about health and how important it is to take care of yourself, and others. With months of nurses, cardiologists, and nephrologists I found a new motivation for working and that was to help people feel their best, even on their darkest saddest days.
Continuing on my experience, working at Tristar since the beginning of this year has been the best experience for me. I get to experience so many different patients on a daily basis from labor and delivery, med surg., CCU, and my favorite of all the psychiatric area. I have the most connection there, and it’s crazy cause I have the least amount of communication with those patients but I can have empathy for the things going on in their mind.
