Chef

Oddstory Brewing Co.
Chattanooga, TN
09.2022 - 06.2024
  • I helped open this kitchen when the new building opened for this company. I was responsible for maintaining all food safety standards within the kitchen. I was a team lead for the kitchen and had to order produce and other products for the next day. I wrote prep lists for the next day's service in accordance with the kitchens needs. I was responsible for maintaining a good attitude and helping others do the same for the sake of the team. I was responsible for leading the team during opening and closing shifts. I had to be able to cook all of the menus items and prep all ingredients for them as well as give input for future menu items. I had to wash the dishes, sweep and mop floors, deep clean the hood vents, machinery, and the rest of the kitchen in its' entirety. Check dates on labels and replace prepped items as needed. I had to communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively at all times during every shift.

Pizza Maker

Goodfellas Pizzeria
Chattanooga, TN
08.2021 - 08.2022
  • I was responsible for making the dough, prepping the ingredients as well as the products to sell on shelves. I had to run the register and everything that comes with it. Stock products neatly. General restaurant cleaning duties as well; dishes, sweeping, mopping, deep clean, etc. I had to pour beers for customers. Made the pizzas, cooked/baked the pizzas, sliced the pizzas, and boxed them. Often had to serve customers and act as a server during peak hours.

Front Line Supervisor

UPS
Nashville, TN
11.2017 - 05.2020
  • Part time supervision in multiple departments within the hub operations. As an outbound supervisor I was expected to manage a work area with six bay doors, supervise five employees, ensure they maintained a steady work pace, worked safely, reported injuries when they got them, helped each other and worked as a team, document any shortcomings or improvements in work performance, document at-risk behaviors that were outside of ups regulated procedures, document and input employees time cards, use a radio to clearly and effectively communicate accurate and time sensitive information to other supervision, mediate and assist in resolving conflict, and assist other supervisors in their work area. As the building grew and became an automated hub over the peak season of 2018, I became a 3rd supervisor over the newly automated system and select few employees in the area. My responsibilities then became; monitoring quickly moving belts, shutting them off to climb on them and break jams in order to allow the packages to continue moving in the hub, running to and from parts of the building as directed/needed in order to keep the automation in working condition and running, providing detailed information about the root cause of problems and constructing innovative solutions with a team to maintain building rate of production. After that, I moved on to the retention/training department, and my responsibilities became; demonstrating an understanding of all the UPS safe work methods and regulations every month, training anywhere from 1-4 new employees every week, documenting everything relevant in regard to the employees' progress or lack thereof, acquiring signatures from employees and management, clearly and effectively communicating with employees about their results and how they can better their work habits, providing a tour and understanding of the hub, giving pre work communications meetings about current events within the building, & going to a three week training course on UPS frontline supervision.
