Through my experiences in management and teamwork opportunities, leadership, adaptability, and a willingness to learn from others have been prominent skills that I have grown in. My passions for the environment and business drive me towards a career in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics or something similar. As a pool manager, I learned the true importance of paying attention to details and being diligent in daily procedures to maintain a safe, efficient, and cohesive workplace.
Through a Geography course I took in my Fall 2025 semester, I was able to tour the UT Steam Plant, visit a KUB board meeting, and tour the River Forecasting Facility of TVA in downtown Knoxville. The course taught me much about energy, power grids, and policy regarding these. By the end of the course, I had written a 20-page research paper on TVA and its influence on energy policy in the Appalachian region over the past 35 years. This was an exciting research paper for me, as the topic interests me greatly.
