While employed by House Hasson Hardware in 1981 was assigned the Southeast Territory calling on Hardware Retail dealers from Lenior City Tn. Thru Cleveland Tn. as a Sales Rep.
The territory when I took over was producing less than 300K per year and was in the bottom 10% out of 67 territories the company had. Within 7 years I was able to build customer base and increase sales to 950K per year and ranked in the top 5 territories in company.
While employed by the USPS was promoted to Supervisor position in Sept. 1994. Was task with leading 50 - 60 employees in a multi functional work environment meeting daily dispatch goals. Was responsible for my employees attendance, addressing poor performance, and scheduling to meet mail volume needs. Also I filled in as Tour Manager as needed managing other supervisors.
I Was promoted to Engineering Specialist in Sept. 2015 responsible for improving mail sorting machine performance. Was assigned Safety Coordinator for the Wiesgarber Plant operations. Also was also Plant Facilitator for training plant employees LOTO program, Hazardous Materials Handling, Asbestos Program. Was also task with planning and implementing building improvements working with Sub Contractors thru completion.
I was detailed to the Johnson City Plant as Maintenance Manager in 2019 due to adverse labor issues within the maintenance dept. There were over 500 grievances filed by the Union. Was able to build trust with the union reps. and working with them built a working environment that reduced the grievances to 2 a month. We also was able to negotiate the 500 grievances benefitting both USPS management and union leaving a clean slate. Was also during this time was able to improve mail sorting equipment performance from one the worst in the Southeast to top 5 in the Southeast Region thru employee best practices and improved moral.
