-The Reconnaissance Marine, Parachute and Combatant Diver
Qualified participate in reconnaissance activities to gain information
about the enemy and the terrain. He or she employs parachute
insertion as a means of entry when appropriate, or as a combatant
diver to insert or extract personnel.
- The team that I was part of, for our work-up and deployment, was
the dive team. My billet held during that time was our teams
Pointman. This meaning that I was in charge of route planning for
insert and extract as well as navigation to and from the objective
during our missions.
- My platoon was deployed as a part of the 31st MEU from October
2020 - November 2021. We conducted several training operations to
include but not limited to: freefall parachute insertion, dive insertion,
live fire and maneuver training, close quarters shooting, house
clearing, small watercraft operation, helo-casting, information
gathering in support of raids, assistance in raids of enemy objectives
or locations, and several reconnaissance patrols to gather
information on enemy objectives or positions.
- As the armory representative for all of Bravo company at 3D
Reconnaissance Battalion I was in charge of, and responsible for,
hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of weapons, optics, and SL3.
I retained all of these items in my secured cage at the armory and issued them out to the personnel of bravo company as needed.

  • Conducted inventory reports valued at over $500,000 with no discrepancies.
  • Prepared mission equipment for deployment and secured vehicles prior to transport.
  • Educated newer members on platoon inner workings, answered questions and provided advice on daily duties.
  • Directed platoon tactical movements, platoon security operations and platoon route and zone reconnaissance.
