My name is Megan Kiehl and I have always had interest in all things dental. In high school I worked part time in a dental office as a sterilization tech. This started my interest in dental. It also gave me knowledge on how the sterilization process works, and how important it is. After a couple of years I went to ETSU for a year with a focus on dental hygiene. With it being 2020 however, COVID heavily affected my college experience and I did not continue going. For a few years I decided to go the pharmaceutical route, and became I registered pharmacy technician. I worked at two different pharmacies which heavily broadened my medical knowledge, while simultaneously helping me gain customer service skills. In 2024, I began working at Southeast Oral surgery as a sterilization technician. This furthered my knowledge on dental. I also helped hold and maintain support of patients heads while in surgery, giving me hands on experience. I worked there for a year before I was offered my RDA. The company provided the training and credentials I needed to become a registered dental assistant on the job. I immensely love being an assistant and want to continuously broaden my horizons on the many types of Dental practices!
