Thirty years of CTE classroom experience in developing and delivering education to aspiring healthcare professionals,assisting students to achieve a 100% passing rate on the state CNA exam for the last 7 years. Utilize administrative skills to establish/implement/maintain industry certification training centers at the secondary level. Manage budgets, draft MOUs, develop contracts, and build relationships with various health care professionals and facilities in our community for WBL placements. Knowledge of creating a supportive and effective learning environment, for both students and teachers, to foster both student and teacher success in CTE programs.

  • Coordinated and implemented two start-up programs for CTE secondary health sciences at William Blount High School (1996) and at Maryville High School (2004).
  • Developed and implemented curriculum for 7 health science courses and two capstone programs of study.
  • Served as WBL coordinator for Health Sciences and networked with various health care facilities/staff to design and manage WBL learning experiences for state nursing assistant certification (CNA).
  • Partnered with AMR to develop and implement an MOU for a national registry certification course for Emergency Medical Responder (EMR).
  • Managed HOSA student organization and organized leadership / team-building workshops, academic competitions, and fund-raising events.
  • Served on a medley of professional development teams, including school leadership team, crisis management team, Tennessee for School Improvement (TSIP) Committee, Critical Focus Groups, Teacher Advisory Committee, and Climate and Culture Committee.
  • Implemented iReach digital conversion and integrated technology into instructional delivery with utilization of Blackboard and Canvas online classroom management systems.
  • Designated as a Level 3 teacher and certified as a TEAM evaluator.
  • Served as a mentor to several new CTE teachers.
  • Created and managed budgets for the health science program, applied for various grants, and managed inventory for classroom/clinical equipment.
