Overnight processing performs maturity processes, revaluation of all individual deals and matured positions, rebuilding of Currency Positions, as well as full Operational reporting. - Life Computer System (LCS) is a home grown application, born in Sept'1968. LCS is the primary platform for Individual Traditional Life Insurance business in Guardian. LCS has a front-end User Interface in a very old Motorola tool, Power stack, which runs on Unix Platform and supports approximately 250 screens. Lifework is a programming language used to build Power stack functionality. Powerstack GUI is being replaced by Java based home grown GPAC (Guardian Policy Administration Centre) GUI for user transactions. Reinstatement, Face Reduction Quote, Surrender transactions are already built in GPAC. Disbursement, Payment transactions will be built in next 4 months. LCS also has two CICS based user interface applications, GEMS and GLAD.

- PDW - Production Data Warehouse in Standard Charted is a data processing system based completely on Mainframes. The prime objective of this system is to feed the data to the main Data warehousing unit from various other systems such as CCMS which does credit card management, HOGAN - deals with savings, RLS - dealing with loan management. Programs are coded in 3 major languages - COBOL, Easytrieve and SAS. This migration project aims at reducing the time and resources utilized in Mainframe and converting the entire system in to a single effective and user friendly system. The system is migrated to Data Stage one of a very efficient ETL tool. The migration includes 10 countries such Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, India, etc. The project started with Taiwan which had 6 daily job flows,7 weekly job flows, 17 monthly job flows & 2 yearly job flows. The deliverables were given in an excel format to the target Data Stage team with accurate clarity in information along with copybooks, proc steps and transformation rules. All the Taiwan jobs were successfully migrated and moved to production by the end of June, 2012. Currently the project is ongoing for Hong Kong. Taiwan successful migration was well received and appreciated by the onsite leads and clients.
