In between work, classes and studying, from my senior year of high school through my first couple of years in college, I spent my time investing in the lives of these high school girls as one of their YoungLife leaders.
  • Wilderness First Responder - National Outdoor Leadership School (2018)

  • In the summer of 2018, I spent two weeks in a vigorous training course to earn a Wilderness First Responder certification. I became proficient in responding to emergencies in a remote backcountry setting such as treating open wounds, burns, bites, bone fractures, medical emergencies, creating evacuation plans, etc.
  • 30-day Backpacking Course - National Outdoor Leadership School (2016)

  • Embarked on a 30 day backpacking, outdoor leadership, and Wilderness First Aid course in the Wind River Range of Wyoming. During the course, I earned a Wilderness First Aid certification, became a competent back-country leader and traveler, and developed an unmatched ability to face challenges and overcome adversity and uncertainty. I was able to independently lead a group of five peers in the wilderness for the final four days of our course. We traveled 30 miles over the course of those last four days, and were successful in independent technical traveling and camping. This incredible experience and amazing opportunity to lead a group of peers in an unfamiliar back-country setting, gave me the confidence and leadership abilities to take on any challenge that I have met since.
