Rachel Morris

As Children’s Director at Ararat Baptist Church, I was responsible to build a children’s and nursery ministry from the ground up. I worked with my chosen committee to bring the church’s childcare ministry up to date in regards to policy and procedures in safety standards. I recruited and managed around 50 teachers and volunteers. I was responsible for all scheduling, training, and evaluation. I also worked with families who were utilizing our childcare. I planned and carried out extra-curricular activities for children and youth, ages birth through 17. I planned and oversaw 3 years of Vacation Bible School during this period, as well as starting and growing a music program with the children and youth of the church, putting on several substantial musical programs.

As a substitute teacher, I stepped in and taught any and all subjects to classes in grades kindergarten through 8th grade. Including some long-term subbing. As a teacher’s assistant, I worked alongside teachers in those same grades in teaching, tutoring, test proctoring, grading, classroom management, lesson planning and collaborative lesson planning and teaching. As a math RTI teacher, I learned an entirely new computer program and curriculum to help tutor children in grades K-8 with math deficits. I was solely responsible for the scheduling, lesson planning, curriculum prep and classroom management of my classroom and office.
