Primary Nurse Role:

• Manage a high volume of calls addressing patient concerns regarding pain, wound healing, medications and any complications.
• Able to triage these calls and follow the surgeon's specific protocols for these.
• Answer all questions via phone, email, patient portal, our surgical app and fax.
• Keep a detailed surgery calendar up to date and accurate for a busy total joint practice.
• Effectively and quickly communicate any changes made to surgery plans with different departments, patients and the surgeon.
• Schedule patient surgeries both in person and by phone.
• Able to effectively communicate what patients need to do before and after for better post-op outcomes.
• Making sure that the surgeon has all of the information he needs to be able to treat and care for these patients on a day to day basis.
• Assisting his PAs with their clinic needs, scheduling surgeries, ordering tests, sending in scripts.
• Handle medication refills and rerouting narcotic refills to the PA so these can be done quickly.

LPN Role:

• Room patients, obtain medical history, height, weight and history present illness.
• Accurately documenting this information.
• Assist the surgeon with in office procedures such as injections, aspirations and wound care.
• Manage a high volume of patients during clinic.
• Remove bandages and assess the surgical site.
