Description:The ESXi Intel Xeon SSD validation process ensures compatibility and performance of Intel SSDs with VMware ESXi operating systems, specifically versions 6.5 to 8.0. This validation includes features like NATIVE, VxLan, SRIOV, Geneve, ROCe, IWRAP, ISER, and NVMe over RDMA. The validation process is crucial to guarantee seamless integration and optimal performance within ESXi environments.

Responsibilities:Establishing lab environments for feature certification testing and preparing test beds. Acquiring VMware certified servers through VMware VCG to ensure compatibility. Downloading the latest drivers and plugins from the VMware site for installation. Installing ESXi OS on servers to create a test environment. Addressing system-related issues to ensure smooth testing processes. Testing Intel driver, analyzing errors to differentiate system-related issues from driver issues. Testing various drivers with different ESXi versions to certify compatibility. Raising Jira tickets for drive-related issues and submitting logs to VMware after successful test execution. Compiling required documents for listing Micron drives in the VMware VCG site. Checking details of Intel drivers for accuracy and compatibility.

It enables direct control and management of NVMe SSDs from the PCIe bus without the need for additional hardware adaptors. This technology standardizes LED status communication for NVMe SSDs, allowing for seamless additions and removals of NVMe drives from the PCIe bus This project deals The test scope

coverage is to validate Intel developed driver across Windows, Linux, ESXi ,UEFI platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing the test cases for both Windows and Linux driver validation.
  • Test execution in ESXi- NVMe driver and Own the ESXi driver Validation.
  • Enabling hot swapping of NVMe SSDs connected to the PCIe bus.
  • Standardizing LED status communication for NVMe SSDs.
  • Reducing downtime by allowing seamless additions and removals of NVMe drives.
  • Providing enterprise reliability, availability, and serviceability features to NVMe SSDs.
  • Supporting ecosystem-wide enablement across various vendors in the data center infrastructure.
  • Python Automation code execution on different Operating systems in ESXi For using NVMe spec with RAID1, 5, 10 driver validation Administrators to manage and configure RAID and non-RAID volumes associated with the Intel Volume Management Device.

Project title: SSD NVMe Micron drives Vmware certitfication CLIENT- MICRON

Role : Lead Engineer

Description: VMware certification program which was developed by VMware to certify that particular product was compatible with VMware environment or not. Micron Drives and Drivers are certified to make sure that product is compatible with VMware and published in VMware VCG.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating lab setup of IOVP and vSAN certification required environment and running the test case and preparing the test bed for IOVP and vSAN certification.
  • Procuring VMware certified servers by checking in VMware VCG. Downloading required latest files from VMware site.
  • Installing ESXI OS on servers and creating IOVP and vSAN certification required lab setup. Worked on system related issues to make sure that test will run without any errors.
  • Testing the Micron Drives and analyzed the errors, that the error is due to either a system issue or drive issue.Tested the various Micron drives with different ESXI versions to certify the drives.
  • Raised the ticked on Jira for drive related issues. After successful test execution taking the logs and creating the SR to VMware and submitting the logs in VMware site.
  • Preparing required documents to list Micron drives in VMware VCG site. Checking the Micron drive details.


Project title: SSD Validation Client -MICRON

Description: Test SSD is for testing SSD Compatibility like SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) is a built-in system that monitors the health of storage devices. You can access SMART values by using tools or the Windows Disk Management utility. A drive with no SMART errors is generally healthy, but it's essential to monitor these values regularly tools, like SeaTools, allow you to perform a more comprehensive SMART test that can provide additional information about the drive's health. This test can help identify potential issues before they become critical test is designed to check for bad blocks on traditional spinning disks, but it can also be used for SSDs. However, it's essential to consider that flash-based memory devices like SSDs and NVMe drives may not respond well to excessive writing, so this test should be used with caution High temperatures can affect the performance and lifespan of SSDs. Regularly check the temperature of your drive using tools to ensure it stays within acceptable limits Firmware updates can improve the performance and reliability of SSDs. Keep your drive's firmware up-to-date by using manufacturer-specific tools Many SSD manufacturers provide their own software tools to monitor and manage their drives. Regularly backing up your data is crucial to prevent data loss in case of drive failure. This can be done using cloud storage services, external hard drives, or other backup solutions
