 MINISTRY OF MUNICIPAL AND RURAL AFFAIRS (Sep 2021-Present)

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA), a government department in Saudi Arabia, required an application to integrate all revenue generating business domains such as hospitals, malls, restaurants, constructions , marketplaces and movie theaters—under one platform. This system allows MOMRA to monitor revenues and generate reports for each organization effectively.

MOMRA deploys government-appointed field inspectors to organizations covered under the Centralized Inspection System Application. These inspectors are responsible for ensuring compliance with government regulations. If an organization fails to adhere to the rules set by the Saudi government or violates any regulations, the inspector has the authority to issue a violation report against the organization.

Saudi Arabia is divided into multiple municipalities and sub-municipalities, similar to how India has states and cities. Each municipality and sub-municipality is overseen by a System Admin appointed by MOMRA. The System Admin logs into the Centralized Inspection System to onboard field inspectors responsible for inspecting hospitals, malls, restaurants, constructions , marketplaces and movie theaters within their assigned geographical areas.

Once the field inspector begins the inspection, they can raise a violation if a shop, hospital, or any other business is found non-compliant with the regulations set by the Saudi government. After completing the inspection, the case is forwarded to higher authorities for review. These authorities determine whether the violation is valid. If confirmed, the business owner must pay a fine to the government as a penalty.

MY CONTRIBUTION

I began my career in this project as a Developer and have since grown into the role of an Associate Team Lead for a Scrum team, continuing to contribute to this project to date. Throughout my journey, I have gained hands-on experience in key Pega concepts, including case journey, job schedulers, queue processors, data flows, DWA, and integrations. I was involved in implementing these functionalities within the application.

I was responsible for delivering a module which comprises of many functionalities which is given by the business - people of the organization. To achieve this, I will analyze the functionality and discuss the design with the leads on how well we can execute the design within the estimated time. Once we are locked with the technical design, I allocate the task to the team members and monitors on completion of the task within the given time.

The project started with Pega version 8.6 and progressively upgraded it to version 8.23 (Infinity), with my active involvement in all upgrade phases. Additionally, I played a key role in managing production data provided by the business, ensuring that end users received accurate data promptly. Since the application is used nationwide in Saudi Arabia, network traffic in the production environment is consistently high. So I consistently monitored the performance of the application, so the end user won’t experience any lag while using the application.
