Responsibilities:
· Identify new technologies to improve existing manufacturing methods.
· Plan and manage deliveries related to program or facility.
· Propose updates or create new manufacturing requirements based on learnings from past programs.
· Develop and improve Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methods in line with updates in Global Manufacturing requirements.
DPA5 Assessments:
The following are tasks involved in DPA5 Assessments:
· Working closely with the global team to obtain the required input and coordinating it with the internal team to ensure timely delivery of the DPA5 Assessment with high quality.
· Verifying the CAD in Team Centre Vis mock-up to meet global manufacturing requirements through static assessments.
· Validating GMR with respect to the program in E2Ks checklist. - Assigning CAD to PD for non-compliant parts to make necessary changes to meet the requirements.
· Assessing facility data with respect to the product and providing recommendations to make necessary changes in station or plant production line.
· Using JACK tool to conduct ergonomic assessments and verify the reachability or feasibility for the operator to reach zone to complete a specific process.
· Conducting dynamic simulations to check for corrosion issues with stone chipping and void/drain to verify E-coat traps in the parts using star CCM+.
E-coat Stimulation:
· This process is used to verify the Dry Film Thickness (DFT) on panels and make recommendations for improving the DFT on the panels. Parameters can be adjusted to achieve the desired results.
Virtual Review:
· At the end of the program, a final assessment will be conducted, and the status will be shared with the respective leads.
Validation:
· Physical reports will be compared with simulation reports to identify any discrepancies between the existing tool and the upcoming program assessments. New methods will be developed based on the findings.
· Adding New Global Manufacturing Requirements (GMR) in E2Ks Lessons learned from respective programs will be used to add new global manufacturing requirements to E2Ks.
Vehicle Process Sheets Support:
· A step-by-step procedure will be written to define the process and assign tools with effective dates for each station at the respective plant, procedure and assigning the tools with the effective dates for each station with the respective plant.
· Responsible for identifying launch risks and driving mitigation through cross-functional teams.
· Performed manufacturing checks on part feasibility as per the Global Manufacturing Requirements for Body construction and Paint Engineering. These checks included assessing Stone chip failures to A-Class surfaces, sealer geometry compatibility and process feasibility, Void & Drain simulations (Static & Dynamic), Ergonomics for operators, BIW & tools compatibility to appearance and operations.
· The driving force behind identifying efficient ways of validation methods and implementing the same through automation. Some of the new validation methods that I introduced included Panel deformation (due to buoyancy force) simulation, E-coat film build simulation, Robotic Paint spray feasibility, and Oven curing simulation.
· Supported engineering designs through analysis and simulation, released drawings in PLM (Team centre) and submitted workflow to Engineer for review and sign-off.
· Provided technical guidance, peer review, and mentorship to junior engineers, and performed multitasking such as CAD extraction & illustration.
· Evaluated and designed a comparison of CAD models on standard requirement.
