Work History

Resident Assistant

Tennessee Tech University Housing and Residential Life
01.2024 - Current
  • As a Resident Assistant at Tennessee Tech, I am responsible for the safety and well-being of the twenty-five residents on my floor
  • I complete duty nights where I am then responsible for ensuring two buildings on campus are free from harm, mishaps, or unsafe environments
  • I also complete on average one hour a week working at help desk where I help students who have been locked out, need access to certain areas, or if the building has any work orders that need to be placed
  • I also serve as a mediator when there are conflicts on my hall, and a resource for when students might be struggling academically, socially, or emotionally
  • In these instances, I happily connect students with the resources they need on campus
  • Additionally, I am a part of the recognition committee, where I get to celebrate and award my fellow resident assistants by gathering votes on program, board, and door decs of the month

Kennel Technician

Purfect Park Pet Resort
06.2021 - 08.2022
  • In my role as a kennel technician, it was my responsibility to feed and medicate animals as directed by owners and medication instructions, let dogs out four times a shift or as many times as needed, and conduct fifteen-minute individual playtimes with each animal
  • I also cleaned used kennels and play lots, vacuumed and mopped the facility each shift or as needed, and washed used dishes and other items
  • I also assisted with welcoming clients and their beloved animals to the business and assisted in getting them comfortable in their home away from home

Pharmacology Internship

Multiple Local Pharmacies
01.2022 - 05.2022
  • Pharmacology was an additional senior only course that was offered if students had completed prior required health science courses
  • In this course, we were taught to memorize the Top 200 Drugs list, their side effects, adverse effects, and drug class
  • We were also given the opportunity to travel to local pharmacies and work similarly as a pharmacy tech would
  • At said pharmacies, we would count medications, stock medication bottles, check NDC numbers, and job shadow the pharmacist
  • At the end of the course, we were given the opportunity to take the PTCB exam that would certify us as pharmacy technicians

Clinical Internship

Jefferson Memorial Hospital
08.2021 - 12.2021
  • Clinical Internship was a course offered to seniors who completed all required health science courses at my high school
  • This course gave students the opportunity to travel to Jefferson Memorial Hospital where we would do weekly rotations of different areas of the hospital
  • Only 10 students who were interviewed were accepted into the course, and I was lucky enough to be one of them
  • In this class I gained valuable experience into what a clinical setting is truly like and learned about areas of the hospital and how they work together
  • I got to spend time on the medical surgical floor, emergency room admissions, physical therapy, and the medical laboratory
